About The Lexus TX

The Lexus SUV lineup is extensive enough that there is one that’s just the right size and purpose for everyone. For people who like the popular RX, but need a bit more space and a third row of seats, there is the TX. The seven-seat TX is built on the same platform as the RX, so you get the same extensive drivetrain option list and the same unbeatable ride comfort that has always been a defining feature of Lexus vehicles. You get a lot of space in the TX, and the high-tech interior is finished in high-quality materials. The TX comes well-equipped, with heated front seats, ambient lighting, and multi-zone automatic climate control all as standard. You also get the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 suite of advanced safety features as standard equipment.

What the Critics Say

This is the first Lexus SUV that can comfortably carry adults in its third-row seat. In addition, the TX’s cargo capacity is genuinely impressive. Fold down the second- and third-row seats and you’ll have 97 cubic feet of space available, which is competitive with some full-size luxury SUVs. Last but not least, you can get a powerful hybrid drivetrain in the TX 500h or a plug-in hybrid powertrain in the TX 550h+. It took Lexus some time to get this recipe right, but the new TX is dressed and equipped to impress.” – Edmunds
It’s definitely the biggest Lexus ever, in terms of length and interior capacity, if not weight. While there have previously been three-row Lexus models, none have actually offered a third row that’s especially spacious or comfortable. The TX’s is not only that, it’s actually the most spacious and comfortable in the three-row luxury crossover segment. The TX also has the most cargo space behind that row, by quite a large margin, in fact.” – Autoblog

What’s New for 2026

With the TX still being quite new, there haven’t been many changes for 2026, but there were a couple of small ones. The first one is a new paint color, known as Matador Red Mica. The second is that the panoramic glass roof for the TX 550h+ is now standard equipment.

Lexus TX Features

Lexus TX Interior

Unrivaled Versatility

There are a lot of different ways to use the TX, and Lexus gives you a choice of drivetrains so you can be sure to turn up prepared no matter what. The standard power plant is a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 275 horsepower. For a bit more power, there is a conventional hybrid offered, which comes with 366 horsepower. And for the most power available in the TX, you can opt for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) 550h+ drivetrain and its 404 horsepower. All-wheel drive is available for the turbocharged engine and standard with both hybrid drivetrains. F-SPORT trims get four-wheel steering and Adaptive Variable Suspension, making this family-friendly 7-seat SUV into a corner-carving wonder. And it really is impressively family-friendly, with a massive 20.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row of seats, 57.4 cubic feet with the third row folded down, or a downright cavernous 97 cubic feet with both the second and third rows down.

Lexus TX Interior

Uncompromising Luxury

The spacious interior is the reason to pick the TX over other models. But it’s more than just spacious; it’s also well equipped. Heated front seats and multi-zone automatic climate control come standard, helping to keep everyone comfortable. You also get a big 14-inch Lexus Interface touchscreen, which comes standard with Cloud Navigation, Intelligent Assistant, and Destination Assist. There are quite a few appealing optional features as well, including ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a Mark Levinson® 21-speaker PurePlay Surround Sound system. You can even get the TX with a six-seat configuration, rather than the standard seven. This configuration comes with second-row captain’s chairs with both heating and ventilation.

Lexus TX

Advanced Safety

With a vehicle that’s built to carry the whole family, safety obviously needs to be a high priority. That’s why the TX comes with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 as standard. This suite of advanced safety features includes Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist. The TX also comes with the more common safety features that you find on competing vehicles, like a blind spot monitor and eight airbags. There is available traffic jam assist that helps to keep you safe by reducing driver fatigue, and the available head-up display helps you keep your eyes on the road by displaying vital information right on the windshield.
